MESSAGE
FROM THE PRESIDENT
As President of Club Sport Uniao
Madeirense (Madeira Club) I am
pleased to welcome you to our web
site and invite you to explore our
links for an active and busy
schedule of our doings. We hope
that you will identify an area of
interest of our varied and exciting
offerings by an organization which
has existed for more than 85 years.
We feel that we offer our members,
guests and public at large areas of
interest, from our weekend
restaurant offering
Portuguese-American foods to just
plain relaxation and good fellowship
in a warm and friendly environment.
In addition to year round and
seasonal events we are presently
undergoing a dramatic upgrading of
our facilities to better serve our
members, guests, public and
community events as we expand our
facilities public rentals. Please
peruse our links for a history of
our organization and more definitive
information regarding our many
activities including our annual
feast of "Nossa Senhora do Monte"
(Our Lady of The Mount) always in
second weekend in August and our
annual Golf tournament. Feel free to
contact us for more information. You
are most welcome and invited to
participate with us. We are certain
that you will enjoy our Club amidst
an atmosphere of fun, friendship and
entertainment. We look forward to

MISSION
·
To maintain, cultivate
and promote the Portuguese Language
and Culture, as well as its customs,
in such a manner as to honor and
distinguish the Portuguese
Community.
·
Foster civic
participation and responsibility
among the membership
·
To establish and
maintain socio-cultural and
recreational relations with other
similar organizations.
·
To collaborate with
federal, state and local entities,
when such is solicited as long as it
does not interfere with the
operation of the club.
·
To participate in
various manners, in cases of
recognized necessity within the
Portuguese Community, such as
charitable and benevolent
activities.
·
To organize and carry
out the following annual feasts: The
traditional “Noite Madeirense”, in
April. The feast of our Patron
Saint, “Nossa Senhora do Monte” in
August. The “Anniversary” party,
celebrated in September. Other
feasts exist that are traditionally
planned and held, such as the “Dia
de São Martinho”, “Mother’s Day”,
“New Year’s Eve”, “Portuguese Night”
(Fados) and “Noite Açoriana”.
